Speech of the dean of the
College of Education
The College of Education was established in the academic year 2025–2026 to serve as one of the fundamental pillars of the higher education system. The college is dedicated to preparing academically and pedagogically qualified teachers who are capable of advancing the educational process and contributing to the intellectual and cultural development of society.
The College of Education at Gilgamesh University currently includes two main departments: the Department of Arabic Language and the Department of English Language. Through these departments, the college aims to prepare specialized teachers who possess strong linguistic and educational skills. This is achieved through a stimulating learning environment, modern curricula, and training programs that keep pace with contemporary educational developments, thereby contributing to improving the quality of education and supporting sustainable development.
The college aims to graduate students who possess solid academic knowledge and the pedagogical skills required for the teaching profession at different educational levels. It also focuses on enhancing students’ abilities in scientific research, critical thinking, and the development of ethical and professional values. Furthermore, the college continuously works to develop its academic programs in line with modern requirements and current educational challenges.
The duration of study in the college is four years, after which graduates are awarded a Bachelor’s degree in Education according to their specialization. This qualification enables them to pursue careers in teaching, as well as other professional opportunities such as translation, authorship, curriculum development, linguistic editing, and participation in educational research and studies.
